Category Overview

The Rising Star Award recognises a woman who is making a significant impact in her technology career and is clearly on an upward trajectory. Open to women with between 3 and 10 years’ experience in the tech sector, this award celebrates individuals who are excelling in their role, contributing to major projects, and adding real value to their organisation.

This category highlights professionals who combine technical capability with ambition, leadership potential, and a commitment to continuous development, and who are already shaping the future of technology through their work.

Eligibility / Minimum Requirements

  • The nominee must have 3–10 years’ experience in a technology career

  • The nominee must have contributed to the delivery of at least one major project

  • The nominee must identify as a woman working in a technology role

Judging Criteria (120 words)

The Rising Star Award recognises a woman who is excelling in her technology career and making a meaningful contribution to her organisation. Judges will assess technical competence, professional growth, and the nominee’s role in delivering significant projects. Consideration will be given to the individual’s impact on teams, processes, or outcomes, as well as their ability to take on increasing responsibility. Evidence of initiative, problem-solving, and collaboration will be important, alongside examples of leadership potential or influence beyond their immediate role. Judges will also look for ambition and a clear commitment to developing a long-term career in technology. This award celebrates professionals who are already delivering results and are well positioned to become future leaders in the tech sector.
