Apprentice Award

The Apprentice Award celebrates a woman who is excelling in an apprenticeship role at the early stage of her technology career. This award recognises individuals who are demonstrating strong commitment, rapid skill development, and a passion for technology, whether they are working within a tech company or in a tech-focused role within a non-tech organisation.

The award highlights emerging talent who are making a positive contribution to their workplace, embracing learning opportunities, and showing clear potential for future success in the technology sector.

Eligibility / Minimum Requirements

  • The nominee must be currently undertaking or have recently completed a technology-related apprenticeship

  • Open to apprentices working in tech companies or tech roles within non-tech organisations

  • The nominee must identify as a woman at an early stage of her tech career

Judging Criteria 

The Apprentice Award recognises a woman who is making an outstanding impact through a technology-related apprenticeship. Judges will assess the nominee’s commitment to learning, technical skill development, and enthusiasm for building a career in technology. Consideration will be given to how the apprentice applies new knowledge in the workplace, contributes to projects or teams, and embraces challenges. Evidence of personal growth, initiative, and professionalism will be important, alongside feedback from employers, mentors, or training providers. The award also recognises potential, with judges looking for ambition, curiosity, and a clear desire to progress within the technology sector. This category celebrates apprentices who are laying strong foundations for a successful and impactful tech career.
